Hi.

Iā€™m just here to talk about fashion, life, books, knitting and sewing.

FO: Tummy Warmer No. 2

Baby sweaters go really fast! I love churning out all these FOs this week!

I loved the first Tummy Warmer I made in Yarn Love yarn, and Logan sleeps in it when the nights are chilly, so I decided to make another one for him, in a solid color this time.

The yarn is a gift from Knit Love in South Korea, and it's 8-ply which comes out to be DK weight. It's 95% wool and 5% acrylic and loosely spun so I used US 4 needles to hold things together better.

I love the buttons I used on this. I ordered a LOT of buttons on Amazon for like $3, and they're so cute and perfect for baby stuff.

The modifications I made are:

- Sleeves are longer: I cast on 10 extra stitches, worked the sleeves in the round, and then closed the gap between the armhole and the sleeves. Finished with garter edge.

- No honeycomb stitch patter: for faster knitting. And what can I say, I love knitting mindlessly on stockinette stitches.

- Ribbing hem: maybe this will keep the vest on him better... hopefully...

- closed shoulder: The original design lets the left shoulder completely come apart for easy dressing. But for Logan, he likes to wiggle around when flat on his back for dressing or changing, so I prefer the sleeves on first and button later. So I closed the shoulder when I was picking up stitches for the sleeve in the round.
