WIPs & FOs:

Marty's striped socks are done! I love how the new heel technique turned out. It's really great for self-striping yarns because it doesn't break the striping sequence, but it has a better fit than the afterthought heel for both Marty and me.

The heel is called the Thumb-joint Hat Top Heel, by Lara Neel of Sock Architecture. I bought her book, but wanted to try this heel first, which is available as a free pattern. Lara's instructions are really clear and she has videos for all the techniques that she uses, like her provisional cast-on method. I've done several different methods of provisional cast-on before, but this one has been the easiest for my brain because it is really similar to the Long-Tail Tubular Cast On method I fell in love with few weeks ago.

Another FO this week is Marty's Unfortunate Sweater! I blogged about the background story on my old blog last summer. It's finally done with the zipper installed and ends all woven in.

The front here was steeked and I used the basic sewing skills to put in the zipper. I think I'll probably have Marty try this on for some photos before I release the finished pattern!

Yarn: Colourmart DK weight 73% Merino Plano, 12% Viscose, 10% Silk, 5% Cashmere in "MF Tweed" colorway (#09733)

Needles: US 4 & US 5 circulars

Size: Men's chest circumference 38"

The sweater construction is my go-to method for garment construction. Flat knitting for the front and the back, and then knitting in the round for the sleeves.

This was the 5th project in the 3rd round of Destash Challenge! I have just one sock project left to complete it!
